MAGPIE · HOME Coming next

The furnace filter was due in April. Nobody noticed, because nobody owns it.

Home learns what you actually have — the furnace, the water heater, the car, the dishwasher — then looks up how often each one needs attention and keeps that schedule for you. You do not build the list. You do not look up the interval.

You never wrote this list. Home built it from what you told it you have, and filled in every interval by looking it up.

WHAT ARRIVES SUNDAY EVENING
The house, week of March 2
FURNACE FILTER: four months over
Last changed December 14. The cycle is 90 days.
→ it is a ten minute job. Pick a day.
PLUMBER: only Tuesday
He can do Tuesday 1–4. Nobody is home Tuesday.
→ somebody has to cover it, or it moves to the 19th.
?CHIMNEY: I can’t tell
You have a wood stove but I have no record of a sweep.
When was the last one?
WHY THE SUITE IS ONE THING

The plumber problem is not a house problem. It is a Tuesday problem. Home knows the job needs doing; Calendar knows nobody is in the house between one and four. Neither of them is useful on its own.

HOME  →  the boiler service is due
CALENDAR  →  Tuesday 1–4 is empty, but so is the house
→ the 19th works. Shall I hold it?
HOW HOME WORKS
FIRST

It learns what you have

You mention the boiler when it makes a noise. You say the dishwasher is the drawer kind. Home writes down what it hears, on the same plain page as everything else, and asks when it needs a model number.

THEN

It looks up the cycle

This is the part you would never do: finding out that this filter is 90 days and not 12 months, that this water heater wants an annual flush, that the warranty runs out in November. Home reads the manual so nobody has to.

EVERY SUNDAY

It puts it on a real day

A job with no day attached never happens. Home raises what is due alongside the week Calendar already walked, so the answer is a Tuesday, not a nagging feeling.

WHY THIS ONE IS NOT SHIPPED YET

Looking up a maintenance cycle means reading the open web.

A page written by a stranger is the easiest way to talk an assistant into doing something stupid. So the part of Home that goes and reads a manual gets its own sealed room — no access to your calendar, no access to what Magpie knows about your children — before it reads its first page. It hands back a number, and nothing else.

That wall is why Home is not the thing we shipped first, and it is the reason it will be safe to use when it arrives.

What Home does not do.

It does not book a trade, order a part, or spend money.
It does not guess an interval. If it could not verify one, it says so and asks.
It does not connect to your appliances. There is nothing to install and nothing to pair.
It does not keep a list you cannot see. Everything it holds is one page you can edit.
THE REST OF THE SUITE
Available now

Calendar

It walks the coming week against the rules you wrote down and says which days do not work, while something can still be moved.

On the way

Health

It holds the plan you already have — appointments, refills, the vitamin — and tells you when something has lapsed. It never writes the plan.

EARLY ACCESS

Stop being the person who remembers the filter.

Home opens after Calendar. Households already using Magpie get it first, and we will ask what you own before it turns on.
